Tie a string to the end of the wires in the engine bay. Unbolt the NSS from the tranny. Pull the NSS off and pull the wires down through with the string. Tire the string around the new NSS wires, and pull the string so that the wires are in the same place as before. Then connect the wire connected to the terminal in the engine bay. Bolt up the NSS and call it a day.

I think that's it, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Google is your friend. That being said this article is about cleaning the nss. It gives you the steps to remove it.

if u do it wrong, its only a good solution if its a temperary fix or just a trail rig. your reverse lights wont work either. most of the time if it just acts up here and there i just tap the shifter up while in P or N and itl fire.

Help... I can give you several tips.

First off you do not need to fish the string. There is plenty of room to route the wire up through the engine bay.

Second The wiper arm is probably frozen to the shaft like mine was. The only way you can get it off without destroying the NSS is while prying on the NSS tap the shaft with a BRASS hammer. It will take quite a bit of time but it will get it off without breaking.

Another tip is you can use heat but be very careful! I do NOT recommend an open flame. There is always some flammable gunk under cars and it is easy to set your rig alight if you aren't careful!
