Default How to put an Aftermarket Steering wheel in a post 96 xj

Hey guys. I've been searching around the forum and have found a few threads on people that want to go to an aftermarket steering wheel but you talk them out of it lol.

I have a 99 xj with a full cage, no roof and a plexiglass windshield I am building and want to get rid of the airbag. The car will have harnesses in it. Please don't try to talk me out of getting rid of the airbag. I Want to go to an aftermarket steering wheel.

Everyone seems to suggest Grant but they do not make an adapter for a post 96 xj so I don't know what to do.

Does anyone have any info on how to make a aftermarket wheel work in my 99?

Thanks

So i just went to install the hub Which is the short hub number SRK-170H that is listed to fit all cherokees on their website and it is too big for the spindle. I'll be calling them to see what's up in the morning but does anyone know why this is the wrong size?

Edit. I'm an idiot there was a plastic clip that wasn't letting it fit on entirely.

Hi there. I have a few questions for you if you don't mind. Did you have to remove the clock spring? Does this hub go on smoothly without rubbing? What year is your Jeep? And what kinda steering wheel are you using, 5 bolt or6 bolt? I'm trying to do the same. Thanks

Just so you know that thread is about 2 years old and that guy only has like 25 posts. I think it's safe to say he isn't on the forum anymore.
