Im looking on to getting a 95 cherokee. has 205k on it and 4wd. He said it needs a valve body for the tranny. How much would it cost and how much work will i be in for?

Thanks.

local tranny shop could advise you on this but you might want to bring the fat wallet

Valve bodies typically don't go bad, they might get plugged but a good cleaning will cure that.
Just remember to document EVERYTHING with pictures so you can get all the little ***** and valves back in the correct place.

It may be cheaper to find a used transmission and swapping it. It may be something really small wrong and the seller doesn't know what he's doing.

Also i talked to the guy and he said he drives it everyday he just has to shift from 1st to 2nd to drive. could that mean anything?

my dads going to talk to some people. he sells tools so he talk to all the mechanics. hope it works out cause i like the looks of it. the milage scares me tho. i feel like 205k is a hell of a lot.
