Haha, I hate working in a cold garage. That's pretty much all I did last winter in my buddy's garage. Not too much fun, but better than being subjected to the elements.

You need to get a small screw driver and pry the shift pattern out of the end of the ****. Underneath that you will find the jam nut that holds the **** tight. Use a socket to loosen it and the **** will come of easily.

be careful loosening the locking nut when you do it.

I was putting too much force into it once and broke the whole **** off the upper shift arm. had to remove the entire shift lever and get a new upper half from the junk yard.

good luck!

That sounds like fun! Considering if you wreck that, it's not as bad as a vehicle.

Did you have to pop off the shift pattern like the one guy recommended? Or were you able to just twist them in opposite directions? Also, does the metal sleeve come off with it or do you need to take it off separately to get the new **** on?

Oh it's fun alright! I was playing around again today, but it's on it's last leg and take like 15 minutes to get started and warmed up, luckily it's electric start though. You hit the gas pedal and it turns it over so I just floor it and the pedal is frozen so it stays floored and eventually runs and then we just drive it like that. Got some major drifts going, wooo!
