Lift Size
I have a 2000 XJ Sport Automatic that I want to run 31 10.50 x 15" tires on.
I want to go with a ome system, but a little confused on what amount of lift is required. I will use this jeep as a daily driver but make several trips a year to the mountains as well as the desert, so I want ample clearance for these tires to work on moderate to rough terrain, and a balanced look for the tire size as it relates to the lift but really don't want the jacked up to the sky look!
I'll be running stock 15" alloy rims and will eventually add a winch bumper as well as a heavy rear spare carrier type bumper, about 100# of gear and at times, will be towing a two place ATV trailer.
Any help in narrowing this quest to the correct ome parts needed would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Well for adding all those extras I would run a 4.5" lift with 31x10.5 tires. The stock wheels are fine for something 10.5" wide. If you do decide to go any wider you'll need a minimum of at least an 8" wide rim. With the load of all the add-ons a 3" kit would sit a little too low for 31" tires. For the best clearance for now and the future go with 4.5" of lift and 31"x10.5" tires. Shouls work out the best.

defiantly get a OME heavy load http://www.quadratec.com/products/76090_80X_PG.htm (click drop down arrow) they are one of the best but a lil pricy.... with what your doing i personally think it'll be worth it!

So it seems like the biggest lift ome makes for an xj is 2.5". This will still give you the clearance for the 31" tires, but I'm not sure how much weight they can take on the springs once you load up with heavy bumpers, winchs, tire carriers, etc. Plus it costs over $800! Yes they make awesome kits, but you can get something comparable like a Rubicon Express or Skyjacker for around half that price.
