How does a 3" lift effect ride of daily driver?
Stock size tires on a 3" lift looks kinda goofy.....IMHO.
A 30 x 9.5 x15 looks better, and a 31 x 10 x15 looks even better.
They are more expensive, but they give a wider footprint, which can give more stability...but they also increase drag, which negatively affects gas mileage & power.

in most cases that is the reson to lift a truck most offroaders are looking for more ground clearnce the bigger the tire the more ground clearnce
in the OP he stated that it was just for looks and a 3" lift just dosent look all that good with stock tires (trust me i havent bought tires yet) and the truck would deffently look cool with 30" or 31" tires on it
as for your question on how it would handle with stock tires,it is no diffrent just a little stiffer ride

I am still on 235s with my 3" lift. It doesn't look all that goofy really, of course I want some 31's but I'm still perfectly happy with my 235's for the time being. Although I will say if your stock tire is a 225 or a 215 it would probably look pretty goofy, and alot of stock XJs use those sizes. And like my previous post said, it rides better than it did stock, and still handles decently too...

I was just curious if the weight being higher up and still on the narrower tires would cause more sway and things..I was thinking of just raising mine 2" as that can be accomplished without much else being modified..I have a complete 4.5" lift kit but of course that involves changing all kinds of stuff

and it sucked, it had a 4.5" tomkin lift and no swaybars, it floated and moved around like a boat. Off road it was badass tho it had great flex, and could crawl up anything, but I think the ARBs might of had somthin to do with it.
