Its all about keeping up on maintenance, balancing, rotating, hydrating the rubber. I have two friends with same jeep as mine and same locker set up with the general grabber2's and i pass them day and night on the trail. there is one mud spot we go through and everytime they get stuck while i keep on trucking, we switch rides and i cant make it in theirs but they make it in mine. In my opinion the generals are a good A/T tire, but when it comes down to it BFG is a little better.
Generals are rated higher and did better through the testing from non bias companies. Also, glad to see you finally understand that hydrating the rubber is real and effective.

To everyone, better tires are not an opinion.

Siped.

They were not sipping your tires, they were siping your tires.

Sorry, but yes they are an opinion. All tire test and ratings are opinions, sometimes they are based on many opinions and sometimes on multiple tests, but they are still opinions, and you know what they say about opinions.

Ok, so saying boggers will perform better than bfg a/ts in mud is an opinion?

Tests are not based on opinions. Tests are based on facts. They dont just go "Alright, raise your hand if you think the bfg was better than the general." They do thorough testing in a controlled environment under controlled conditions. Example, BFG vs general, lets say the general was able to take a 72* turn at 34mph before slipping on a vehicle with a 2000lbs curb weight in controlled conditions. Now lets say the BFG was only able to take that exact same turn at 31mph in the exact same controlled conditions. Which one is better?

Test- A procedure for critical evaluation; a means of determining the presence, quality, or truth of something.

Yep, opinion. Mostly depends on what the test is asking and how it is scoring the answers. You see if you are scoring gas mileage as really important maybe a B weight rated tire with real low rolling resistance would end up being rated much higher than say a much more aggressive C weight rated tire. So in most tests the testers are testing for specific things maybe those things aren't that important to the guy looking to purchase the tires. That is why the statement that something is a fact or not an opinion is misleading.

Yes, it is funny, almost as funny as the time you and I were discussing tires for use in deep snow. You know the time you stated how you were running around in 4 foot of snow on 9.5 inch wide tires. Yes it is still funny.

I hope you weren't aiming that at me...because if so you've got things a bit mixed up.

I remember the snow tire thread you are speaking of, and I remember very clearly that I never suggested using 9.5" wide tires in 4 feet of snow.

What I did suggest was that the OP of that thread, who had a factory truck, should use 9.5" wide all terrain tires as that would be his best choice. He wasn't looking to take the truck off road with snow above his bumper.

I also stated that I have personally run A/T tires on snow covered roads with heavy deep snow, and have done so successfully. The need for wide M/T tires on actual roads is unnecessary.

I also find it interesting that you no longer chose to discuss tires with Diesel any longer, you instead decide to attack me. Did Diesel put you in your place? You had nothing to say to him because you couldn't come up with anything so you aimed at me in his place?

Too funny!!!

this tread has turned into a pissing contest... dont forget we all come out smellin...

ALSO... i notice a lot of tires that ppl have recommended dont have a single bit of siping. this seems like an odd choice of snow tire as the siping is what gives you grip in snow... unless i have fully gone off my rocker here....

You can get them siped after you buy them. Not everyone wants siping done, so not all places sipe when they send the tires.

this makes total sense!!! haha, didnt even think of having a shop, or yourself, do the siping. i still like the approach of the wrangler dura's big(ish) lugs and tons of siping all over... seems like they did a good job overall... i really havent found anything negative... at all... other than they arent aggressive enough for the deep mud.
