that's why it's called a "lunchbox locker". it will fit in a lunch box, and can be installed during your lunch hour.

i was lookin at spartan lockers they are made by yukon. i think ive decided to hold off on the locker till i move home and get a stronger axle so instead of the locker im gonna get a class 3 rear hitch and some steal for rock sliders and for winch mount

kudos on gettin the stronger axle first, i say if you don't want to have a chance at breakin the 35, run it open, not sayin you will break it, but locking a 35 with 33's or above will have a greater chance of snapping

you goin with an 8.25?

I don't think there is such a thing as overkill in axles. If you can find a 9" out of a Ranchero it's the same width and bolt pattern with 31 spline shafts. Full size cars like Cougars and T-Birds have the right bolt pattern but 28 spline shaft, still an upgrade from a 35 and unlike the 35, 8.25 and 8.8 no c-clips.

My 35 has lasted and never snapped a thing but every driver is diff.
Nothing with China's products but Yukon is made in China now and it is made out of a lighter alloy metal not the metal it used to be made in when it was made in the U.S.A.
I almost bought Yukon gears until the place I bought my gears from talked about they quit carrying Yukon due to the cheaper metal used....
Just my $0.02

X2 on the 8.25

I got an 8.25 with a Powertraxx No-Slip and I love it!! It's my DD and the Powertraxx No Slip is great on and offroad.

either 9" or 8.8 are a great swap. haven't heard of anyone breaking one of those 31 or 35 spline shafts with the 4.0L tires under 36"

just got myself an 8.8 for $100, gonna regear and put an aussie locker in it

Hadn't heard about Yukon going to China, couldn't find anything about it on their site but mine were 1541H just like Superior and Alloy USA. If you haven't broke a shaft yet give it time. Of course I've also broken shafts in a 44 but I ride mostly rocks and I love my rev limiter. If you do run a 35 or 8.25 I'd suggest disc brakes so if you do snap a shaft your wheel doesn't fall off.
