Default Are hood vents worth the trouble?

I saw a Jeep the other day with hood vents on it that the guy said came from a LeBaron. He said they helped disperse heat. They looked cool but I was thinking if they were that good wouldn`t the Jeep people have put them on? I was also wondering about rain going in. It gets fairly hot where I live and I often run around up in the mountains so are these worth it? Thanks for any input.

ya they are a popular upgrade for the jeep..anything to get the heat out faster is a good idea. and since heat rises hood vents are great. But lebarons had them because alot of them were turbo and they had to have them.

They are definetly worth it. I personally am not a big fan of them. I live in Az where it gets bloody hot. engine temps routinely exceed 210 mark on a 110 degree day and the electric fan is on the entire time. Every time i go wheeling i have to pop the hood to help cool it off. But like 98 jeepjeep said, "anything to get the heat out faster is a good idea" its true

Absolutly worth it. It doe's make a different's with engine tempature. People have their own peferance on how it looks. Like me I just redid my hood so the hot air blows out the back.
