Default Hood moved itself?

I'm trying to do some work under the hood and it appears as though it's moved itself back toward the windshield! I can't open it without removing the windshield wipers and the vent portion underneath those. I've read a lot about hood adjustments for closing issues with the latches, but nothing on this. Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

Here's the front portion.... Ignore the tape residue. I had to replace the cable to close it, hence my reading posts on hood adjustments as stated prior.

Seems like the bolts (or nuts, I forget) that hold the hinge to the hood were not tight. Try just popping the hood, and without lifting it up, and give it a good yank. If it was loose enough to slip on its own weight, you should be able to pull it back forward. Then get it all adjusted and tighten those nuts or bolts down good.

No go on that. What bolts do I need to loosen to move it?

2 bolts on each hinge.
Loosen them. You should be able to pull hood forward.

Scars the duct tape leaves behind. That just seems really scary.

Haha, the battle wounds are indeed from duct tape. This is my friends jeep, and because it wouldn't close properly, she decided in her infinite wisdom that it would be a good idea to duct tape it down like fort knox rather than ask for help. It had about literally 15 other problems, so this was one of many I fixed this weekend.
I didn't get a chance to adjust it as suggested because she needed it back for the week, but I will get back to y'all on whether or not the bolts fix this issue. I've never seen or heard of a hood moving on its own so curious myself. Appreciate the help!

I actually removed mine the other day to do some painting and when I put it back I "thought" I had it lined up right.... Let her drop and it got caught on the header panel. Loosened the side that was too far and re tightened it. Works perfect now. Watch out for the spacers between the hood and the actual hinge.
