u want cold air? just cut a frickin hole in the hood... lol... im not done yet though... gotta get some sheetmetal and im making a little scoop kinda like whats posted above... but mines gonna rotate...open forward for ram air like intake... and then rotate it around when its raining so its like a cowl... right now i dont drive in the rain (chopped top anyway) so i just stick a bucket over it... lol... whistles loud when excelerating at certain RPM's but im used to it now... lol

lol... couple days ago... the tan was camo tan or whatever... and i never got around to spraying the doors... but i bondo'd up the rear where i welded everything up from the chop top and needed to spray it again so i changed the color... myfriends liked the tan better but i think it looked kinda boring... lol... check out my pics... just updated it...

Finally got around to starting mine.

So far..
1. K&N cone filter.
1. Cone breather filter.
1. 60° angle.
2. Hose clamps.
Tomorrow after work ditch the rest of the air box, make a air dam and a bracket to hold it still.

i dont have any pictures.. (its dark outside) but i insulated the factory rubber intake hose and cut the front of the stock air box out as much as i could. I say much improvement on the system. I might seal it up around the opening to keep a little more hot air out. But you figure our rectangle air filters have the same surface area as most cone filters. it was free =] since i had already bought a K&N filter for my stock Air Box

well any input on this..should i build a shroud for it and are all intakes loud cause when you punch it itt loud but it sounds great..it sounds like i have a turbo at certain rpms

I have some questions, 1 how much does it smoke from the CC breather, I had 2 of those on my eclipse and it smoked so much it got me pulled over.... 2 the guys that didn't put nipples on the intake tube did you just cap off and ditch most of the vacuum lines? Like the 2 small ones that go on the back of the intake box?
Also what about ditching the charcoal canister? Personally I hate all the hoses everywhere makes it look messy and can cause leaks. Is there any performance gains/losses or any mpg gains/losses with ditching all that?
Thanks.

I am gettin ready to build my cold air intake. Im gonna use Spectra parts from the local AutoZone, and I even did a 3-d rendering of it on a CADD like program. Check it out:

Basically, I keep the lower portion of the stock airbox, cut the square inlet and replace it with a larger metal tube, cut two little holes in the bottom to drain any water or such that may get through, a heat shield to keep the air temp as cool as possible, and even a top mounted mini-fan that keeps the rising hot air out and promotes cooler air to rush in. What do you guys think? O, and the black gromets on the first straight portion is an adapter from Spectra that allows you to replug in all those hoses and such... Btw, does the stock '91 Laredo air intake have an air sensor anywhere on the tubing or air box?

is doing all this work really worth it, the normal air intake probably has close to the same surface area. couldnt i just add a real heat sheild and open the box up a little to allow more air in?
if i do it though i would get some dryer heat sheild, and try to put up two laters mayber
get a k&n filter
4" exhaust tubing
i also might leave up some of the stock box for supporting the filter

has anybody ever seen anybody try to route the intake and filter going to the passenger side of the engine where there is no header to heat that area up and if so did you have pictures and how it worked over there.
