Why not get some 3in pipe from a exuast shop wiht some bends then get the thing poweder coated. If you gonna be an engineer might as well make it look prettier then most home brewed intakes. and ether you do it or have then welg on some ports for your crank case hoses. Then All u need is to score a coupuler from auto zone to connect the sexy looking pipe to your tb. Maybe get a bracket welded onto the pipe near the filter so u can attach it to a bolt in your engine bay to help prefent the ***** saken allaround. If your gonan be an enginear think something up. A CAI is not that complicated of a design.

well with myheat sheild i actually did test on temp with a thermistat with a cord. At idle and not moving it heated up quicker and stayed hotter in the air filter area but when moving above 10mph it dropped from stock about 20 to 30 degrees and i assume the faster you go the lower the temps would go i only went 25 and i saw a drop of 30 degrees from how it was with out the heat shield

Does anyone have pics of the 99+ intake for reference? I'd like to see what Jeep came up with too. I like the build your own route and think the more templates for reference, the better.

The system i did up consisted of a 50$ universal intake kit from advance auto...so it did need some "adjusting" as it wasnt a direct fit, here is what ive come up with so far

The heat shield is actually the stock air box hacksawed up, also helps stabilize the intake from moving... i had a few issues with it vibrating into the throttle cables :-/ so i came up with this idea -its not fun having the throttle stick open in traffic during winter lol
