Default highway rpms

Anyone running a automatic, 3.55s and 31s? What are your 60mph rpms? My 97 country runs 2750 rpms at 60 mph. Seems high to me. (My 89 with 5 spd and 30s runs 1800 at 60. Idk gear ratio.)
The trans shifts 3 times. 1-2, 2-3, 3-od. I've adjusted the TV cable.

2750 is way to high. Should be a 4th gear then tq lock up.
My stock 99 indicates 2250 and 70 on the dash but gps says 66 mph My 94 with 3.55 and 31s is around 2100 at an actual 70 mph.

That's what I thought. I don't think the lock-up is working. When I let off to zero throttle at highway speeds, rpms drop down to 2k.
So what am I looking for to remedy this? I don't know much about transmissions.

It honestly could just be your tranny fluid, if it's too old or it's low it could make the trans do some weird things.

Mines about 1800-1900 rpm at 60. GPS verified. Check tranny fluid condition/level. Any lights? At that rpm the tranny isn't in OD at all. Even in OD with out the tq locked it would be around 2300.

It's electronically controlled. Look up near the top of the brake pedal and see if the torque converter lockup switch is adjusted properly.

I put a new one on last week per the advice of someone on this site. No effect. I'll do a fluid change and see what happens.

No lights.
Can someone tell me how many shifts it should make?

There are three solenoids in the AW-4. One is the torque converter lockup, it sounds you are lacking. The solenoid resistance can be checked at the trans plug....

For me it's pretty tough to feel and count the shifts. BAD tranny!

OK I lied. There ARE codes stored in the computer. For some reason, the check engine light does not come on, even when cycling the key.
The codes are:
-P0505 idle control system
-P0700 transmission control system
-P0705 transmission range sensor/ switch circuit malfunction (PRNDL Input)
I feel like an idiot that I didn't check codes earlier.

So after I read the codes I checked the fuses again. Low and behold I found a missing fuse in the #10 slot. Trans, etc, etc. Dont know how i missed it the first 2 times. Put in appropriate fuse (15a), unplugged battery to reset computer, drank a PBR.
NOW I have overdrive! 1900 at 60.
I sure appreciate everyone's help! Can't tell you how nice it is here to have folks who care about other people's proplems. If only the rest of the world...

No overdrive this morning. Drove it 8 miles last night with 0 problems. Didn't have time to check fuses, etc when I got to jobsite this morning. So twice now I've found od works after resetting computer, but after sitting overnight it doesn't. I might change the range sensor or computer after checking fuses. Any thoughts?
