Default high oil pressure = valves ticking

Hey I did a search found a bunch if answers, but none for my combination, I had 40-60lb of oil pressure, when wheeling and now I have 70-80 and under load up until 3k ( I usually dont shift that high just needed Info) it has valve train noise across the board, well what sounds like valve train ticking, my question is, did an pathway get plugged causing high oil pressure and loss of floe in the head, I only revved it hard a couple times, if it is block how can I tell and ways to get rid of it? At idle there is no tick

try some MMO first. If that doesn't do it ( it may take a day or so) run some engine flush follow the directions but let it run about 5 min longer, that's if it's plugged or blocked. You could try changing your filter first, it may be full and restricting the system.

pull the plug and run a pressure washer down the valve cover.... lol jk, but seriously that does sound like you might have a blockage does your noise get louder when the pressure rises

Not its pretty sustained volume, and only once did it go away for like 3 minutes driving, sand came back I didn't think to look at my op tho, going to napa and doing the flush with some major sea foam action gonna see if that helps

I Had A Old Boat years ago with a 351W in it one day the oil filter split open. after cleaning down the bilge and engine i replaced the filter and filled it with 10w30 and started it the oil pressure guage went to the MAX again. i talked to an "OLD TIMER" in the boat yard He said drain all the oil, and refill it with 4 quarts tranny fluid 1 quart of slick 50 . i did just that started the engine reved it a few times and BAM after 20 seconds the oil pressure dropped right down. what ever was cloggeg blew its way out. it worked for me years ago maybe for you. remember to drain again and put a new filter on and again after 100 miles .

What brand of oil filter are you using currently?

Mobile 1, so I figures out that in fact my oil pressure relates with the valve train noise, I thought maybe at first it was because the oil was thick and took a while to get to the heads, but now I have no idea it happens off and on and its driving me nuts, could a bad oil pressure unit cut off oil to the heads? Someone told me there was a bearing that could spin and block the oil passage

Change the oil filter if you've got noise. Perhaps the Mobil 1 oil filter came apart inside. Not worth risking bearing damage.

I changed it with another one, it looks fine, and I will drive it around tomorrow to see what the results are, also taking it to the dealer for my check engine light I got after wheeling since aap or napa can't read it for me
