I hope someone can help..
I have a VERY intermittent problem with my '01 cherokee 4.0 dying, then after it dies, it acts like it doesn't want to start, have to give it gas, then once it does start, doesn't want to idle. have to two-foot it for a while, then it will straighten up. As the title reads, I'm not getting a trouble code. Hence, I have replaced the gas cap, fuel pump, crank sensor, and getting ready to do the cam sensor. It has been tuned up within the last 6 months. What else could it be? this guessing game is gettin' kinda expensive! Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Vapor lock in the fuel rail is possible due to heat. What climate you in?
Is the debris shield still on the intake?
