Default High oil pressure

Ok I've been having this problem for sometime now. Ok before i changed my oil my oil pressure would be around oh between 40-50 then I changed my oil I put 10w-30 on with a fram filter xtra guard. Then I go to drive my jeep the next day and oil pressure is 70+ almost 80 on hard accel. . I then replaced the oil pressure sending unit. Well bc I figured maybe the sender is going out. Didnt fix the high pressure i was seeing. Then I noticed a small leak at the filter seal. So I just changed my oil again and new filter. Napa one this time and 10w-30 again. And I decided just to forget about the higher oil pressure. But well that was oh 4 months ago and now my oil pressure is still 70-80 when cold but if I let it idle for about 10 mins or so oil pressure drops. And now my torque is decreasing and I'm losing power.

So my question is where do I start? I wanna fix the problem. I now have another form of transportation so now I can fix my jeep. So all help would be awesome. I thought about rebuilding the engine. But that's a lot of money if I can just fix it easier another way.
But all help will be greatly appriaited thanks y'all!

Are you sure you don't have too much oil in the engine? If there's too much it can raise the oil pressure reading somewhat.

Might check to make sure the oil filter mount is clean and that all the passageways in it are clean and not plugged up.

Try hooking a mechanical gauge up and see what your reading is. I think the gauges on the later Cherokees get their info from the PCM, whereas on vehicles like my F150, the gauge gets its reading from a sending unit directly.

definatley get a mechanical reading to verify what your pressure is at. Thats the 1st step.

No I put the amount of oil that Chrysler recommended. And the oil gauge is ran off the sender. They are fully working gauges.

1. Verify your pressure with a mechanical oil pressure gauge as mentioned. Some big box parts stores rent this tool. Call around.

2. Some aftermarket oil pressure sending units are crap. I buy mine directly from Jeep.

what brand of oil are you runnig id love that much oil pressure on cold start im 60psi ,with that high of pressure the small leak around the filter is most likely from this pressure. at first start dont rev the motor ive seen o ring blow and it makes a hell of a mess

I put in the first time valvoline durablend. The second time is a napa brand from the shop. I just checked the pressure. And my gauge is right between 70-80. Ik that much oil pressure cannot be healthy.
How do I clean the oil passages around the filter?

My oil pressure was always way low. After a cleaning basically adding an additive to the engine -running for a short time emtying out as much as I could ( oil came out BLACK)
and a refill of Full Syn-5W-30W-adding a Pure 1 filter

Now my pressure is around 40 all the time

40-60 when cold
30 at idle.
50 at around 2500 RPM

Hasn't been this way until my change of oils and filter.

See thats where my numbers use to be. What kind of additive did you run? I thought about the sea foam crap or whatever its called but then I've heard some terrible things about so idk which way to go.

You want to do a oil system clean-out? This will clean out all the passages:

Drain-off about one to two quarts and replace with that same amount of Marvel Mystery Oil. Drive it as usual for a couple of days, periodically monitoring for leakage, then do another full oil/filter change. Flush with more Mystery Oil to clear the pan before corking it and adding 5W-30. Observe the crud that came out of your oil pan. Enjoy your normalized oil pressure armed with the knowledge that your engine's life-blood carrying system is no longer at risk of stoppage.

A quart of ATF will do a fine job too.

Just so I get this all the way right drain 1-2 quarts out drain replace with marvel mystery oil drive. Then drain replace with new oil/filter. Then add more marvel mystery oil drive around again and change my oil/filter again? So use two filters and oil?
