Make sure to do the diffs. I notice that getting overlooked a lot!

I've put 200,000 of those miles on it myself and the only leaks I've ever had was in the HP power steering line about a year ago and a slight drip from the rear end that was quickly taken care of... I'm really surprised I haven't had a valve cover leak as they are common on the I6 but she's still clean everywhere. Doesn't burn any oil or anything I've had to replace the water pump once, the alternator (today will be the second one), and I've replaced the radiator twice because of the overflow nipple breaking off.... That's it. She's been a great truck!! Now my '99 xj sport (110k) leaks from the valve cover all ready but it'll be changed this weekend

Good Ole' T.L.C! Obviously a good oil is the lifeline of the vehicle, if you don't have any leaks I recommend Amsoil. This stuff offers outstanding protection and more then doubles your changing intervals.

i got mine with 226k on it, it now has close to 240, no leaks, besides the damned aw4 rear seal wants to leak every once in a while .....

when i got it, i dumped like 600 into it just to make sure i know its taken care of because i didnt know its past...

still runs good, i checked the oil today and its at the bottom line of safe so it burned about a quart of oil... it doesnt leak or anything... im kind of wanted to rebuild it and make it a brand new engine again but idk it still runs good

i wont mess with it till it looses power lol... now the aw4 well when it goes out im getting an ax15 and hopefully gonna convert to 4wd

I have a 93 with 104,000 miles on it. Im pretty sure if there is a place with a gasket it leaks. I have to order all my parts, so I havent fixed any of them. Im afraid to fix any of them because every time I do any work to it I either find something else broken or something breaks while I work on it.

Does anyone have any horror stories of changing their AW4 fluid around 200K? I bought my GF a 2000 and the trans shift great but the fluid isnt pink anymore, more burgundy or dark red. Ive done all the other simple tune up things but when i get access to a heated garage i'm going to change the diff, trans and t-case fluids.

I'm also not sure how to change the fluid in an auto trans. I have a 5sp so changing oil is like any regular oil change
