probably a bad ujoint. Easy to tell. Grab onto the axle on each side of the joint and twist. If there is ANY movement between the 2 pieces, replace the joint.

I was wondering the same thing with mine, whenever I back out of my driveway I need to turn hard left, it seems my front end likes to hop and bounce a bit like yours. But I don't think I have ever had the issue while going forwards, only in reverse.

Using you hands to tell if the ujoint is good or bad while its still in the axle isnt the best way. A better method would be jack the tire up, wedge a bar in the ujoint and turn the wheel back and forth to check for slop.

I usually can tell a bad ujoint from the noise it makes when your taking a turn. clicking, grinding and popping
