I see you have a 5” lift and 31’s. How far off the ground can you get that with your stock jack?

The High Lift will pick you up out of a hole, and can double as a winch. It’s a very handy piece of equipment to have. I have even used mine to move trees off the trail.

Go for a 48".

Also when your XJ pisses you off, you can make one hell of a dent with it.

I've had a few experiences where a high lift would have saved me a lot of headache.... So I'm going to take my own advice and get one ASAP... I want to make big dents too!!!

I got a 48" one from TSC and it has held up fine. It is the TSC brand not a HiLift but is just as strong. You do need to keep it lubed up though. Won't work well without lube. I use silicone spray b/c it lasts longer.

Can you still benefit from a hight lift jack if you have stock bumpers and no rock sliders? Ie: where could you lift from?

You can still lift from the bumpers as long as you lift where it attaches to the unibody. There are no good side lift points without a set of sliders, unless you have rockers made of 1/4" plate like Stryker does.

They are very much worth having, but make sure you have areas on your jeep to seat the jack and always be safe. Those things can be very dangerous handled wrong.

They can be used to lift or as a winch. Stretching barb wire is another.

Some farmers pick their teeth with them.

Well maybe not teeth but they can think of a lot of ways they can come in handy now that mules have went out of style.

P.S. Chained to a beam in the barn you could use it to pull a motor?
