HID wont come on at all
I just bought a Xentec HID kit for my 2000 Cherokee XJ but when i plugged it in it doesn't turn on at all i heard that sometimes you need a relay but that is usually when the lights flicker right ? mine doesnt come on at all
do i need this relay harness?

pretty sure u do need the harness to support the power.. not to mention it cant hurt
but i dont know if u dont have the habbit of reading before you buy but down in the harness info it clearly states this isnt for hi/lo it only works with lo beam heads
harness wont work for ur jeep
• It is NOT WORKING for HI/LO Beam, it works for single beam ONLY.

part number 36-3580 will work for you and its cheap
cheers

It's really meant for vehicles that have separate housings for both their low and high beams, which your Jeep does not. HIDs aren't meant to be switched on and off, or between two different voltages, constantly. Doing so severely shortens their lifespan.
Vehicles that come with HIDs from the factory generally have a shutter that will drop in front of the high-beams when the operator switches to lows, so they don't have to turn off.
HIDs in vehicles like Cherokees are generally pretty unnecessary; you can either get some upgraded sealed beams (yuck city), or the conversion headlamps that will allow you to put your H1/H4 bulb of choice in them. Silvania SilverStars are great bulbs, and will provide more than enough light for traveling down the road.
If your stock headlamps aren't bright enough, they may just be old and in need of replacing. Also check that the wiring going to them isn't chewed up or rotting, since this can cause a drop in light output as well.

HIDs use less power than a standard Halogen bulb (35W standard, 55W for the "high power" versions) so your wiring should be well up to it as far as power goes. I can't really comment further because I think the UK spec cherokees have a different setup (H4 Halogen).

You should make a list/ take pics of all the components you are working with.
I/ others may be of more help if all the components in the system are known.
The whole problem could be something really simple, but i know at least for myself its hard to help with electrical when im not sure whats all there, or where its connected.
