IAC is the idle air controller. It's a plunger that is plugged I to your throttle body. If that is messed up your idle will be all over the place. Learned that when my friend cleaned his. Lost a toothbrush bristle bt the iac and it ran like **** lol. Take off your throttle body and clean it while you take off your iac. Chances are it is bad or something is in there.

Damn people caught me slipping lol and thanks i still gotta get a vid of whats going on maybe its just the really really really dirtyy fuel filter mixed with something its probably never been changed and i run the tank pretty empty during these rough times plus the tank rusted out a bit made a pinhole i had to seal with qwik steel and flex seal who knows whats in that filter and getting to my injectors and whiever said 20 plus shipping i might take you up on that as long as you got the rubber hose and plastic seal thingy that goes into the manifold. If you can find out the shipping cost for me shipped to zip code 19135 id appreciate it

A missing air cleaner assembly or a dirty fuel filter will NOT cause the idle to shoot up to 3000RPM. I would say you have a large vacuum leak someplace.
