Default Heres a wierd one!

So my 2000 cherokee 4.0 takes 6 quarts of oil right?

I put 6 in and it's way over filled, so I pulled probably a whole quart out and it's still a tad high.

Ideas?

So is everyone else, including my mechanic haha. He doesn't understand why it'd be doing all these thing but if its only taking five drive with five then. Wants me to throw a gauge on it and drive for a week and get back to him. Meanwhile it "seems" like the clicking is slowly getting more frequent.

something's wrong with my lady

This is my thought, too.

Know anyone else with a Cherokee? (Borrow the dipstick to compare.)

As perviously stated the dipstick is correct. I checked part numbers to verify.

Might be an odd thought, but did you replace your oil filter with the change? if not there might have been a little hiding in there!
