I need some advice on removing the steering damper on my 1999 Cherokee 4.0 4WD.
I'm having difficulty removing the steering damper from the threaded post at the center link. I removed the cotter pin and 3/4" locking nut. I can't tell, however, if the rest of the post/bolt is threaded through the rod or simply dropped through from the top. If you know whether the rod is threaded or not and how to remove this post/bolt, I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks.

Where Haynes Repair Manual comes up short, XJOFFROAD picks up the slack!!
Used a center pull and popped it off. The new one is on and I've already taken my XJ for a test drive. Everything's fine.
Thanks for your quick help. Ain't the web just amazin'?

I had the same prob on my 2000 XJ. Shoot it with PB Blaster, then an hour later, pop it off with a pitman arm puller. Pops right off.
