Default Help! Starting problems!

Hi, i recently bought a 1998 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L. It's had problems starting. It will usually take me a couple times for it to turn over. I've already replaced battery and i've gotten a tune-up. Anyone know what the problem could be? Drives fine, just takes a couple times to turn over. Could it be the NSS? Starter? Fuel Filter?

When you are cracking is it doing so slowly? Any other noises while starting?

3 tries as in you turn the key 2x and it does nothing then on the 3rd attempt it cranks over?

When i turn the key it sounds like a car normally would, you'd hear the cranking. It just doesnt start/turn-over until the 2nd-3rd time.

I have the same problem with my 97 and was told it might be an injector but I have not had the time to look at it so I do what someone on here suggested and turn the key on twice and wait each time about 5 seconds with out turning it over then on the third time start your Jeep.

I had the same problem on my 91 xj. A line in the fuel pump assembly that goes from the pump to the line was not tight. So it was losing fuel pressure. After a few tries it would start. Just took out the fuel assy, tightened the line and problem solved.

Is that process consistent?

Was the injector the problem?
