Default Help please!

Recently i replaced the t case on my 96 cherokee sport 4WD. It was running smoothly for 2 weeks and i did notice leaking from the rear of the t case. Driving home from school one day i began accelerating to about 60 then it started to feel like something flew up under my fender and started thumping so i pulled over. I waited and then took off agian and around 60 it did it agian. I pulled over agian and jumped out and looked under the jeep. The t case was letting off white smoke. I let it sit for a few days after driving it home and today i started it up and drove it and now theres a metal on metal scraping sound. I dont know much about cars at all but im guessing i just need to fix the seal on the t case then refill it with fluid but i rather get some adviced from more experienced people.
Thanks,
Andrew Ellis

It sounds like the T case lost a bearing or something like that . you need to open it up and see what went wrong with it . or just change it .

There are two large (7/8ths?) plugs on the rear of the TC. Lower is the drain, then the upper is filled with Dexron III tranny fluid till it overflows. You knew that, right?

Mine were bigger than 7/8. An inch and something but I don't remember exactly. Or like 32mm

10-4. I just remember them being big. I'm crashing. I'll assume yo have it full with DEX III then, is all I had.

A good used one.

And while you're at it, check every fluid level and condition on your Jeep.

Try just removing the front drive-line? If that's not turning it, and it's in 2 WD that might do it.
