Need more info.... What brand model of amp? Is your remote wire sending power to turn the amp on? Are you getting 12v through your power wire? Do you have a crappy ground? Dont use seat bolts or any existing bolt for a ground find a nice spot of sheet metal. Sand out bare and make a ground with a self tapping screw or bolt. Oh and make sure your rca's are hooked up. I installed my four channel amp the other day and thought i screwed up when I had no output... Forgot the rca's.

A short ground wire hooked to bare metal is always for the win

Do you have a Mono or Four Channel ?

Check the remote wire with a DMM.

I ground under the back seat to the sheet metal with a jl audio ground lug. Also what is the final impedance of the sub? If the resistance is too low for the amp it may put it into protection mode.
