Default help me solve my idle problem

so my idle when warm is around 1500 rpm, its a smooth clean idle, so far i have cleaned the throttle body, replaced the tps sensor and IAC valve with NEW units, and i replaced the valve cover gasket with a perm seal gasket and replaced the oil filler cap and replaced the breather tube. I have sprayed all of the tubes with carb cleaner and tryed pinching them all to look for a difference in rpm NOTHING, but if i pinch the breather tube to the intake idle drops to a steady 1k rpm, this means lean or rich? anyone think its my o2 sensor?

Carnac the Magnificent will tell us what year XJ you have and what engine you have...

Edit: Sorry, I just saw you have an 89 XJ. Go back to sleep Carnac.

If you have a newer (LOL) Xj the fitting on the rear of the valve cover will be the CCV (similar to a PCV). It has a fixed metering orifice in it - about a 1/8" hole. The front fitting is open.

A high idle RPM usually means a vacuum leak.

Have you adjusted your TPS on the "engine" side?

Has anyone ever screwed around with your throttle butterfly adjustment?

I guess the '89 doesn't have a CCV like the newer XJ's. maybe Cruiser54 can help you on this.

Before messing with the screw again, unless you're gonna adjust it per my write-up, readjust your TPS. It's off now.
