Help, I'm in the junk yard right now!
I'm pulling an 8.25 to put in my jeep to replace the D35 I have. My jeep has the NP231 case, and this jeep has the NP242. Can I pull the axle from this jeep, and then get a drive shaft from a jeep with an 8.25 and NP231? Its a dumb question, but wanna be sure. We almost have the axle out, that's why I'm not gonna start over on a new jeep. Thanks!

Yes that'll work fine. Only difference is the d.s. at the transfer case end and the d.s. length. you have to open it up to disconnect the e brake.

Hey guys thanks. I ended up not getting the DS, but I'll go back and grab one.
And as for the brakes cables, I ended up just taking them lol. 90 dollars for the axle, drum to drum, and the cables.
