Hello everyone!!!!

im currently doing a rebuild on my 1990 xj 4.0. Machine shop called me and informed me that the head was ok but after the mag test they found a minor crack in BLOCK!!!!

i have found a new engine block but my question is this....will my old crank work with my a different block??? I know theyre balanced but can i swap them like that to another block?

any help here would be very much appreciated!!!!

 

Just did some further digging here. My block has a casting number from the 96-99 year. How is that poasible?

is the only way this could've happened by someone already replacing the block previously????

Ok your XJ is 28 years old I think it could of had the engine changed all ready so all you need to to do is find a block that will work with all the parts you have you have the years that will work . the machine shop should be able to help with what you need .
