how the **** do i get it to line up. i can get it one but the ****er will not line up with the holes.

If its on and laying flat it should be easy and lined up. Unless its backwards!

is the gasket lined up right?

Do not tighten any of the screws fully until you have them all started a few threads.

i cant even get one of the screws into the thread.

yeah but the cover wont line up with holes. its stuck on something.

I think you put studs in were bolts go. Anything that will sit inside the valve cover has to be a bolt. the studs with the nut on them are to tall for the valve cover to sit down all the way. Its been a long time since I have dune a head but I think that's what when't wrong.

Hate its bein such a pain. Probably caught in the back as someone said on the other post. It came off it will go back on! Sometimes it just wants to be a PITA. Also did you remove the old "washer" grommets from the valve cover. If you were trying to start the bolts with both sets of grommets on the valve cover it might not be letting the bolts go down far enough to start in the threads.

they can catch the thread but the bolt itsnt straight. i can only get one a tiny bit on.

It should be easy to move it that little bit once its flat on the head. I'm thinking it's binding on the back drivers side. there is a metal hose there. You should be able to bump it down first with your fist, Then it should easily move a quarter inch at least. then you can get the bolts started.

i have it flat and i need to push it back a little but i cant. i might have to check it out tomorrow i cant see now cus of the day light savings.

Yeah man. Darkness definetly wont help ya! Wish i was close enough to help you out with it. I'm sure you'll get it. That is another advantage to not using rtv. You'd really have a mess on your hands about now! maybe the Jeep fairy will take care of it tonight for ya! Ha ha

yeah im a little far away haha hopefully ill be moving done to bama for college in 2 years. yeah if i put rtv on it i wouldnt be a happy camper
