help with damn valve cover?

I think you put studs in were bolts go. Anything that will sit inside the valve cover has to be a bolt. the studs with the nut on them are to tall for the valve cover to sit down all the way. Its been a long time since I have dune a head but I think that's what when't wrong.

Hate its bein such a pain. Probably caught in the back as someone said on the other post. It came off it will go back on! Sometimes it just wants to be a PITA. Also did you remove the old "washer" grommets from the valve cover. If you were trying to start the bolts with both sets of grommets on the valve cover it might not be letting the bolts go down far enough to start in the threads.

Hate its bein such a pain. Probably caught in the back as someone said on the other post. It came off it will go back on! Sometimes it just wants to be a PITA. It should be easy to move it that little bit once its flat on the head. I'm thinking it's binding on the back drivers side. there is a metal hose there. You should be able to bump it down first with your fist, Then it should easily move a quarter inch at least. then you can get the bolts started.

Yeah man. Darkness definetly wont help ya! Wish i was close enough to help you out with it. I'm sure you'll get it. That is another advantage to not using rtv. You'd really have a mess on your hands about now! maybe the Jeep fairy will take care of it tonight for ya! Ha ha
