So, You broke the t-stat housing bolt. What is your question? Are looking for ways to remove? If so I would start by try to grab it with vise grips. If that doesn't work. You may need to drill it and use an easy out.
BTW, That does suck having it break on you.
Good Luck

Use a torch and get the area surrounding the bolt red hot and the bolt will come out with vicegrips

You should try MAP gas, it gets hotter than propane and would work way better in this case. Good luck

If you didn't wear stub of bolt away, heat up again, PB again.Gonna be real cold tonight.Try again tomorrow.I have faith.Good Luck. And remember heat up area around bolt. You actually want the bolt to stay as cold as possible.

3 cycles of heating til cherry red and cooling off in between. After last cooling cycle, take it out with vice grips.

if its not coming out with heat, try drilling the bolt out and just retap the hole and get a new bolt.

You are probably going to have to get it even hotter with a cutting torch. You may have to have it flatbedded to a mechanic's shop that has one.

Even then it still may not come out, or it may break off flush with the head.

It it does that, then drill and tap it out. An EZ out probably won't get it.

Worst case, the head may have to come off, but I hope it doesn't get that extreme.

That bolt gets into the water jacket. By looking at your pictures, it sure is corroded up in there.

I dont think the bolt extrudes into the jacket, iirc it's a cast nub inside that's threaded but not through to the inside.

Well you're probably right. I was into both of mine recently but I wasn't looking up into the head behind the thermostat.

As soon as you loosen that lower bolt a little, coolant starts weeping out though.
