So I been giggling the shifter in park and nuetral and can't get it started, my reverse lights work, so does that mean the nss is working? I'll start with the starter tomorrow.
Then you have the NSS that serves several functions.
If your reverse lamps are still working properly, it's probably fine. You can also try starting with the shifter in Neutral instead of Park - but I doubt that's going to turn anything up.
Test as mentioned for output from the starter motor relay, proceed as indicated.

turn headlights on and try to start if they dim way down and nothing happens connection issue,if they stay bright and nothing happens starter/wireing issue have you tapped starter with hammer yet maybe its just stuck from sitting so long???? also checking small wire on starter for current when key is turned to start takes just a couple of minutes will save a lot of time pin pointing issue

OK, Great! Your starter works, got juice to it. Your metal starter relay near the battery has a bunch of wires on it.
The bottom, rear, black/white stripe is the one the NSS is suppose to ground for it to work. Be cautious if you ground that as it will start in any gear.
The lower of the two greens should get power when you turn the key to start. That energizes the coil in the relay that is grounded via the NSS . That coil closes contacts that shoot power out the upper green to the solenoid.
(you can jump it there as well)

So I replaced my ignition switch and presto, its all good now. I'm also replacing the trans solenoids. Hopefully this will be good for awhile, so I can start with the fun Mods
