Default Help!! 88 comanche electrical problens!!

Just got my comanche ready to fire for the first time in years and I have no power to most of the interior. List of not working:
Gauge lights
Marker/parking lights
Interior lights
Heat blower
Clock
Cigaret lighter

So far replacing fuses have fixed:
Brake lights
Glove box light
Turn signals
Radio
Gauges
Warning light cluster

I want everything fixed so I can get it on the road. Everything seems to work engine wise:
fuel pump runs
Coil gets power
Injectors tick
Motor spins kinda slow but a new starter should fix that.

Is there power at the fuse block for those items? Pull the fuse and check for power at the fuse socket. Might pull the fuse block and check it's overall condition too, seems they develop problems with time.

Almost sounds like teh brown wire to the ignition switch is fried along with the switch.

I have power to almost every fuse. I got no power to the batt terminal and most of the acc terminals. Today I fixed the headlights and tails. Installed a toggle switch in factory head light location for head lights and used the blank spot next to fog lamp switch for a rocker for gauge lights and tails. Some where in the tail light circuit there's a fault when power is taken from tail light hot then put to the load end of the circuit the power is lost but when load is removed the test light comes back on. The headlight switch tested ok. So I got a spare for the xj. Also got the motor to back fire today before the battery died.

You have two of the sharpest guys on the team there. If you are clear and direct, you will get excellent info back.

It's always smart to listen to Cruiser. OK Pete fess up! Is that YOUR photo? F1, are you listening?

Btw, Renix has a "web/fan" of fusible links that come off the starter relay, there between the row of four and the battery. You might see that none look burnt.

My photo. That switch came out of my wife's XJ.

OP. What EXACTLY doesn't work?

No blower. How about turn signals?

Today I got the wiring fixed for the headlights and markers. Yes turns work. Just no hazards (flasher is gone) got the blower working by replacing the fuse.

The red fuses supply headlight switch with power.

The fuse I pulled from blower slot. Put a 25 back in and it works now.

Also fixed my wipers by taking the breaker out and cleaned the terminals and replaced the delay box with an extra I had from my cherokee.

That heater fuse will almost certainly have burnt the connector in the fuse block, I'd expect it to cause problems in the near future. Maybe be careful how much time you run the blower on "high" to limit the amount of current you're pulling through it.

How did sooo many fuses get blown? Is the whole wiring harness in the same condition as the part hanging below the light switch?

Harness is not messed up. I haven't cleaned up the feed to the headlight switch and the twisted wire goes to a switch I placed next to fog lamp switch.

Found two fuses melted. One was oversized to begin with. One was tail lights (had a poor attempt of trailer wiring) others I replaced just had bad connections.
