My 1990 4.0L 6cyl inline has a high idle also when I hit the gas it spits and jumps runs rough can any1help

When was the last time you gave it some love?

FULL tune-up? New air filter? Clean throttle body, idle air control?

K I cleaned the iac an tb I've put new plugs an wire's new cap an rotar air filter cts an o2 sensor map sensor an no change still high idle jumps and spits win try to hit the gas pedal.. had a friend link up to it but it was only showing that it's staying in open loop...any suggestions.

Did you reset the ecu by chance?

Test the fuel pressure.

Click on the Pink Link below and do Tips 1,3,4, and 5 as soon as you can also.

Rarely fail. What DOES fail is the tube from the throttle body to MAP. A lot!!

I unhooked the battery for bout an .hr got no change is there a certain way to reset the ecu

It's not friggen resetable!!!!!

That's not an issue on Renix.

Skip the rabbit trail you've gone on with the resetting. Do the Tips suggested first.
