Default Heater problem...

Have an issue with my heater and was hoping you guys might be able to give me an idea where to start. Worked fine yesterday, but this morning when I fired up the Jeep (91 Cherokee) the heater wasn't working. Whether set on low or high, nothing is blowing. There is some hot air coming through the defrost, but it's just sort of seeping out instead of blowing out. I tried changing to the heat setting and I hear this soft, momentary hiss, and nothing happens. Same thing when I switch back to defrost.

Did a blower motor go out, or did a vacuum line break, or what? I did notice an odd squeaking from under the hook this morning that isn't normally present, but I chalked it up to the well below normal temperature and went on my way. Not sure if it is related or not.

morning,

its either the resistor pack (located screwed into the black Plastic ducting at passenger footwell, front), or the switch in the AC/heater panel. possible its the motor itself...

hope it helps,,,,

I had the same problem with my Xj a few weeks ago. Start by checking the fuse in the fuse panel. If it's blown then replace it and see if it comes back on. If it does than you may want to replace he blower motor anyways because it was drawing more amps than it could handle. It is an easy fix, so if you need insight than I'm sure myself and many others who have done it will walk you through it.
