i did a coolant system flush, and changed my thermostat
any ideas on what it can be?

Verify that your temp and if it is getting up to normal operating temp. Check both hose to the heater core they should both be hot. You may want to try to flush the heater core again in both directions several times.

What did the coolant look like before, was it brown? Describe "its not as hot as it should be". What is the actual vent temperature now with the engine at operating temperature.
