heater controls/unknown harness
Basically I was fumbling with my glovebox and now my heat only comes out of my windshield vents. None of the other vent settings work or are blowing air. I looked behind the glovebox and found, what looks like a wireharness, but actually is a harness of tiny hoses, of which, the red was spliced. Related? Anyone know what the harness of hoses is for? Naturally I checked all the fuses.
Thanks for the help.

The climate controls are actuated by a vacuum from the intake manifold. From there a hose runs to a vacuum reservoir, often called the "Jeep Egg" which is in your front bumper (stock location). Then, it runs unto your firewall behind your heater core. It forks to a couple of locations once it's behind your dash. The doors that open and close to change where your air blows are controlled by vacuum motors, and you can actually see one if you look around near where the passenger's feet are. A door there opens to cycle air in the cabin rather than drawing from the cowl. You'll need to trace down where the vacuum is just sucking in air. Remove your center dash bezel and unscrew the climate control panel. Behind it you'll see a collection of hoses. Start there.
