Default heater

Hey guys my heater gets waem but not as hot as it should. What would this be? Temp stays at 210 or right around it so its not a thermostat. Heater core maybe? I've never changed one. Or any other ideas?

Try flushing the heater core. Take both hoses off and hook a water hose to the return side. It should help.

Open your hood and the hoses will be comming out of the left hand side of the fire wall. What year is your jeep and what motor?

The hose closest to the motor should be the return hose.

You will loose some. If the antifreeze is dirty get some cleaner and flush your entire system. Good luck.

Make sure the system is filled 100% as well. If there was some air for any reason, it will cause the heater to not work as well. Also, don't hook a hose directly to the heater core, spray the water into the return hose. If the core is plugged up, the pressure will blow the core.

Along andy's line yea direct house pressure might be too much. I grip both the garden hose and the heater hose in one hand and squeeze so it gets good positive pressure without it being clamped onto 50 lbs pressure.

After flushing the heater core with water you can fill it with CLR and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Then flush again very very thoroughly to clear out the chemical. I recommend using compressed air to blow out any residual water from the heater core also. top off the coolant and burp the system to release the air bubbles.
