Default Heat not working!! Whats wrong?

I drove around this morning had heat. Got back in 2 hrs later and nothing. Jeep warms up fine to 210, turn the heat on nothing no noises. Is it blower motor or poss fuse?

Poss a fan fuse.

If you cannot hear the Blower at all then I would start there. It is located on the Rt. Pass side.

The fuse for the heater fan is under the dash on the drivers side (in my '94 anyway). It's not in the engine compartment.

The cooling fan fuse in the engine compartment is probably for the AC

Best to note the year/engine. You have 2 XJs and the control electronics are not exactly the same.

If fuses/relays check out, try running a wire from the battery directly to the motor. If it runs this way, the motor is still good and you have an electronic control problem.

Check your fuses with a multimeter (for continuity),if they check out ok, then check your plugs at your blower motor for 12V power, with engine on/ignition switch in RUN. If you have 12V power at the plu then I would run power directly to the blower motor, as that would most likely be your problem, running power straight to your blower motor will ensure that to be the problem if it doesn't run. However if there is no power at the motor, go back and check relays, and your switch itself. When troubleshooting I usually start at one end and work my way forward/backward.

i had a blower motor (fan) freeze once. drove around town with the fan on full/heat on high then shut the jeep off came back after my shift on the hill and no fan/heat. checked all the fuses did the volt meter deal still nothing... ended up pulling the motor, sure enough frozen fan, condensation build up/ice holding the blades thawed and worked....what a btch!
