Default Headlights go out one side at a time randomly

I have searched the forum and can't find anything on this. It started with my left headlight low beam not working, high always works. Then it came back on a few days later. Then the right side is doing the same exact thing. Any idea what this could be? It seems to flicker when I hit bumps but i can't find any loose wiring or connections????

It would help to know if this is an XJ body and what year it is.

97 XJ, and no I have not replaced the headlight switch. How much disassembly to the steering column is involved?

Before replacing the headlamp switch, inspect the large electrical connector just in front of the PCM. You'll need to uncouple the connector and examine the pins and pin cavities in the connector halves. There's been a lot of headlight issues due to corrosion in this connector.

Check the headlight ground wires on each side.

Where is the PCM located? And I'll check my grounds again but they looked good last week.

Locate the air filter box on the driver's side of the engine bay. The PCM is next to it. You'll have to remove the air filter box to get at the connector.

That should be relatively easy, I have a cold air intake.
