Left front end noise.
Hello all ,
So about a week ago I noticed that my 1998 xj, has a noise coming from the front left wheel area. It only happens when I turn the wheel either way. The noise would be best described as s knocking. The jeep is four wheel drive with 33 inch tires if that makes a difference. Any help with is would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Jack the Jeep up, put the front axle on jack stands. Then spin each tire by hand as a friend turns the steering wheel lock to lock. listen for clicking, you should also be able to feel the tire bind and un-bind if the u-joint is bad.. Also take a look at the u-joint as you turn the tire and see if it looks to have play in the joint.
Here is a good vid to watch.
