headlight indicator not working

i have a 1998 xj and when i turn on my headlights my lift turning signal comes on solid and the headlight indicator does not come on. all my lights work but my left turning signal blinks faster than my right.

Check for a short in the wiring or bulb out on left side.

Sounds like an incorrect/defective bulb. Does it blink normally when the lights are off?

Check the ground in the dash pod. It is trying to find a ground and it will go anywhere it can, including the turn signal indicator.

You might want to consider a heavy duty flasher. That will straighten out the speed at which either side flashes. They are inexpensive.

looks like the left yellow light under the headlight is out. silly me should have checked first
