Factory tow package?

Factory tow package?
Just what is changed with a factory tow package? My '96 build XJ classic has one, just wondering if it would have changed any of the gearing or if it really just means that they attached the hitch and wiring.

Tow package consists of the wiring and of course the hitch receiver. nothing effecting drive train, or suspension has been done. just a frame mounted hitch receiver... with the appropriate wiring harness

It also included a transmission cooler, heavy duty electrical group, and 75w140 synthetic in the rear axle.
