Default Header choice?

I'm trying to pick out a header to swap on when I do my head gasket and intake manifold, I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on this one

Or should I just try to get a pacesetter? Unless theres something better for around the same price. Any opinions are appreciated

Power wise the stock header is not bad at all, the problem is they all inevitably crack. I have heard good things about the cheap ebay headers with bellows on the #1 and #6 runners. They can be had for like $80 shipped. The one you have shown looks like an APN style. I would go with an actual APN header before I would order that one. APN headers have had problems with cracking as well but not nearly to the extent of the stock header. Pacesetter is garbage the fitment is terrible and I have not heard of a single person having a good experience using one.

Mine cracked, more than one spot, sounds like total crap and I got emissions coming up soon.

I just installed my Pacesetter and I found it to be a quality unit. I really like the tri-y design and 2 piece fitment. it also came with every thing to complete the install, to include wire, butt connectors, and shrink wrap to extend the o2 sensor

maybe they have improved since then but the main issues I heard involved the header coating burning off and rusting and that the new downpipe does not line up well with the cat and hitting on the driveshaft. A friend of mine bought one about a year ago and it wouldn't come anywhere close to lining up.

This is one of your best options for the money.

Of course, if you have the money, look into a Gibson or Banks

The black coating the header comes with is not a high temp paint/coating as stated right on the header. It's only there to protect the metal during storage/etc... it WILL burn off.

The instructions state to use a high temp paint if you want.

As far as the fitment goes, I can take a few pics of mine if the OG poster wants...I have no issues with the driveshaft or anything else.

Plus, you can usually get one from Amazon for $165 bucks shipped or less, that's like 40 - 50% off. Good deal IMO.

Lining up with the cat isn't an issue but I'm gonna be shopping around, I get paid tomorrow and want this asap so I can get ready to go through emissions. Also looking for a cheap cat, I know cheap is bad but for temporary to get through emissions its fine. So if anyone has any other suggestions on headers to look into I'm all ears or eyes whatever

Looks like I'm going for the apn and a magnaflow cat through amazon for about $200 plus shipping, not bad then I think I might grab a flowmaster muffler from work after emissions is done so this jeep can breathe well.
