I was going to edit the other converter post but I did not see the option to so I started a new thread. I receive a lot of PM's about which converter to use. I will do my best to sort it out in this thread. If your still confused on which to use just PM or call me (540-343-1593) and we can sort it out

1987 - 1995 Jeep Cherokee (2.5L & 4.0L) / 1993 - 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee (4.0L & 5.2) - OBDI converters

Spun Converters:
Thunderbolt: 410225 - 11" overall length / 4" diameter / Ceramic Core 400 holes psi

Thunderbolt 415225 - This is a true High Flow converter. 11" overall length / 4" diameter / Metallic Core 300 holes psi. Keep in mind this will increase how loud your exhaust is.

Standard Converter:
AP Exhaust: 602545 - 16" overall length / 12" Body Length / Ceramic core 400 holes psi

Would the thunderbolt 415225 work for a 98 Cherokee?

It "probably" would but there is always a risk of getting a check engine light on OBDII vehicles.

I don't believe jeeps are very sensitive to how heavy the converters are loaded though.

The prices should be on his site, IIRC under 60$.
As far as the pre-cats. Technically, yes you can. But if someone knows and is **** enough they could fail you. Telling them that is how you it was when you purchased the vehicle may work.
I would say that majority don't know.

Thanks for the help.. been crazy busy lately.

I would not use a thunderbolt on an 01. Look above at the AP Spun converter. This is a heavy loaded converter and will keep the check engine light off.

As for the precats, it's illegal to remove them so why risk it?

Hi i have a 2000 xj hopefully you are still selling these....just wondering if the high flows for the obdII models will make the exhaust louder and improve performance? i read through both of your threads and wasnt sure about this...thanks

I'm looking for the Thunderbolt: 410225, but with an o2 port. This one doesn't look like it has one, unless it's on the other side than what's being shown in the picture. For a 98.

If you have the factory converter it will more than likely increase the volume of the exhaust, it will not be a huge difference though. It will give you slightly better performance but just don't expect to feel the difference. High flow converters are one of those items that stack well with other performance mods / high flowing exhausts.

Look at part number 425225. That is the 410225 with an o2 nut.

If you order it tonight it will ship tomorrow. Michigan is typically 2 business days from us so you "should" see it on Saturday assuming FedEx does their job.

Hey would you happen to know how the the CFM ratings compare between your 300 holes per in squared vs your 400 holes per in squared catalytic converters?
