Head light/radio short?
I was driving my 92 jeep cherokee Laredo home and i turned the stereo up a little to listen to some music for the cruise home, then the song started and my headlights and stereo shut off. at first i thought it was a fuse. but as i stop i pulled back on the Bright lights and they turned on and so did my stereo. Anyone have a idea of what the problem might be?

You have a short. I would start with the dimmer wire for the.stereo. it runs from the headlight switch to the back of the stereo. According to the diagram it is a blue wire on the stock stereo.

As slick was stating, pull the stereo and follow the blue wire, it may have been snipped when the after market stereo was installed. If the wire was snipped but not taped off, it may be coming in contact with the chassis of the stereo or dash metal and grounding out.

The factory harness has a blue wire.... could you have connected the blue wire from the factory harness to the remote?

Oh Jeeze... I had gremlins like that. If I were you I would pull the radio and retire it. Start over. Also something I forgot. The antenna will ground out very easily. I had this problem. Caused all kinds of quirky strange electrical problems like you described. Thing is if the radio is aftermarket and everything else is stock its the most likely culprit. I didn't think it was possible at the time but when I redid the wiring it fixed a lot of my problems

That worked for me. Get a diagram and make sure you have no open or loose connections. Pull it out and unplug everything and take the fuse out at the panel first and see if it fixes your lights. Let me know what happens before you rewire.

Ok if that didn't work you kit have two separate problems. The regular lights and rights power come.off the same power and ground. That leaves the multi function switch. The lever on your column that you pull back for your brights
