Default Head games

Got the head off my jeep and since I have it off I would like to hot rod it a little to see if I can pick up a few ponys. I heard of gasket matching the exhaust port only so I won't lose any low end torque and shaving the head 10 thousands. Any Other suggestions?

You can match up and smooth out the intake side if necessary too, it's when you increase runner size and lower the velocity that you lose low end torque.

I have done match porting to the gasket on both intake and exhaust with excellent results on 2 of my Jeeps. I will do it on my stroker for the Comanche.

This guy I work with keeps telling me not to touch the intake just port the intake manifold to the ports on the head. It's just gonna be a stock motor if that will make a difference

Probably because he is clinging to an old wive's tale and has no experience doing what I have done successfully more than once. You will be just fine matching the head and manifold ports to the gasket.
