im having a hard time getting the bolts out of the front end of the leaf springs... they are half way out but then they stop coming out as i turn the bolt.. anyone ever have this problem? and what did they do?
i thought maybe the springs were tweaked and it was putting pressure on the bolts, but there not.

get some kinda pickle fork for big sturdy open end wrench and put it on the bolt head. then wedge it in, so its forcing the bolt towards you, and hit it with a hammer, should coax it out a little bit. or do this by pulling it, and while pulling it turn the wrench. if the bolt is just spinning in the bushing, you may need to cut it out, i had to do that with one of mine. are you using PB blaster?
edit: also note that leaf spring bolts are quite long, so you may need to just keep wrenching on it.

I'm sure you already did this but very important that you support the Jeep on jack stands or a lift by the frame and remove the wheels. First, let the suspension hang and try to remove the bolts. If this doesn't work then put a floor jack under the rear diff.and jack it up a little bit and try again. This helped me to get those pesky bolts right out.

you have to get a flat punch with a smaller Diameter than the bolt and drive it out...i removed leafs for my XJ from a Dakota and that was the hardest thing about it...even harder than taking out the mile long U-Bolts.

I like master shakes suggestion. Put a wrench over the shaft and behind the head of the bolt, then strike that wrench with a hammer. It would really have to be lodged to not come out then.

Be VERY careful when beating on those bolts. If you bust the anchornuts off inside the frame rail, that those bolts thread into....then you're in for some REAL fun....NOT!!
As like buck said, i ran into this same problem, just keep spraying them down and tighten it then loosen. I had to use a huge cheater bar and a breaker bar on mine. It sucked but youll get it.

ive been trying everything u guys have suggested, and none of them have been working. maybe the last resort is to cut the leafs and just have the eye hanging and then try to cut the eye and pry it apart?

both bolts are like roughly 2inchs out of the bushing.. they just wont come out any further.. i dbt that they are still in the threads... but i dunno.. are there threads inside the bushing? or just in the nut(thats welded in the frame?)
This is what u have, you have whats called a welded jnut inside the box where the eye of the spring goes up into, then the sleeve a goes thru the leaf spring and the bolt goes thru that. More than likely what is happening is the bolt is seized inside the sleeve or bushing, u may have to heat it up? Whatever u do try not to mess of the box or the jnut.
