Default Have fuel, have spark, no fire!

To start off my 91 cherokee hasn't been started for about 8 months. I have checked each spark plug for spark. I have drained and refilled the tank with new gas and know from draining the tank there is fuel pressure. I have used starting fluid to try to get it to start with no success. It sounds like it wants to take but never comes close to firing. If you have any thing let me know.

Thanks DK

Since it's been so long since you started it have you check the battery? A battery that sits that long could be drained to low to crank over.

only need three things to fire an engine up. air, spark, gas. now if you have GOOD spark and you have GOOD gas pressure and GOOD air then you should be there. what about firing order, is that correct? are you getting air? is there anything to impeed the airflow?

More than likely it is your CPS. Unplug and replug it back in should fire write up!

Common problem do a lil search on here and you will find what I am talking about in more detail.

Dunno since it isn't the 4.0

Try NAXJA.org for some good info on yours.

THat sounds like CPS due to it has to read the flywheel turning at 300 rpm before it will fire the injectors.

Being that it's an older GM V6, it would be worth seeing if it's got a and Ignition Module under the dist. cap. I'd pop the ignition module out and head to the local Autozone or Advance and have them test that. I know the GM V8 Ign. Modules went bad all the time.

Good idea. ill go out and check and if it does ill go get it check. I cant find that cps anywhere and my Haynes manual says absolutely nothing about it. This s**t is driving me crazy! It did this about a month ago to and I could leave it sit and it would start right up. Any ideas?

I have done the cps check and unplug replug. I have spark and the fuel is coming through. No block in the air. The starter works fine the battery holds charge. What is the next step?
